L. Davis - "My earliest memories of Holiday Travel Park (now Camp Gulf) go way back! In the middle sixties (I was in jr. high school) we would drive through the night from northeast MS and one of my fondest memories is not what we would see but the sounds and smells of the beach. Several families would circle our trailers and buses where the original swimming pool is now located. I don't remember any hookups past that point. The central area was a great playspace for little ones in the group and was where the big pots were filled to boil shrimp. We were there every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Great way to begin and end the summer. Thanks for the memories! We still visit and the next generation is continuing the tradition. My son and his family will be there in 8 weeks. Been coming to Camp Gulf at least 47 years."
